President  Probus Club of Springs (2017-2018)
I grew up and attended school in Newcastle. We moved to Durban so I matriculated from Durban Girls’ High School. I then studied at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg and obtained a B.Sc degree, majoring in chemistry and botany. I worked as an analytical chemist/researcher at Klipfontein Organic Products near Kempton Park and later at the South African Railway laboratories.

After my marriage I moved to Springs and worked in the laboratory at Gillettes.  I later joined the J.C.I. laboratories.  After my children were born I stayed at home for 10 years and was then asked to teach science at Springs Boys’High.  I then obtained my Teacher’s Diploma from Unisa and moved to Springs Girls’ High where I taught mathematics, science, accounting and computer studies. My main subject was mathematics and I taught there for 15 years until my retirement.  Since retirement  I have done relief teaching at various schools and given extra lessons to matric pupils.

I have been a member of the Springs Park Rotary Anns for 36 years and have twice served as President.  My interests include bridge, reading, gardening, crafts and spending time with my grandchildren.  I enjoy line dancing. I have a son and a daughter (twins) both living in Johannesburg and 2 grandchildren.
