Hout Bay / Constantiaberg
Sausage Sizzle Event on the 27th September 2017

At the PAWC AGM in June this year, President Rob Sproul encouraged Clubs to organise events to develop fellowship within the Association.
Hout Bay President, Geoff Arkwright, and Constantiaberg  Ladies President, Celeste Olivier “picked up the ball” and ran with this idea.   They organised the event jointly to take place at the Silvermine Retirement Village in Noordhoek and invited Tokai Mens, Tokai Ladies, Constantia Mens  and Sentinel Clubs to join in for a Sausage Sizzle.    Of course this was the only day that some rain was forecast!    Fortunately, the day was dry, although a little windy but it did not deter  more than some 60 Probians from the six clubs from attending the function, some 70 Probians had committed themselves to attend but some were unable to attend on the day.
Each Probian received two sausage rolls, either Pork or Boerewors and these were braaied by Geoff Arkwright, ably assisted by Dave Black, also of Hout Bay Mens.   Celeste and Vyvyan Kahn from Constantiaberg Ladies and Les Black from Sentinel Club in Hout Bay, served the rolls, sausage  and onions.  To keep costs down everyone was asked to bring their own drinks, glasses, plates, etc.
Probians were encouraged to circulate and mix with members of Clubs other than their own.   President Rob Sproul joined us for the event and gave a short address at the end of the function and suggested that this be considered as the inaugural event which should be repeated in the future.   The general consensus was that it had been a happy event and thanks must go to Geoff Arkwright from Hout Bay and Celeste Olivier from Constantiberg Ladies for initiating the event.
